About Matthew Elder and Jupiter Software
I'm Matthew Elder, founder of Jupiter Software. I've spent about twenty years in startups, working across software architecture, product decisions and the business around them.
I help founders turn an idea into something useful, or work out what an existing system needs next. Sometimes that means writing software. Sometimes it means finding the smaller, clearer problem before anyone starts writing more of it.
What I work on
My work covers software consulting, custom development and web applications. I look at how the interface, data and architecture fit the job, and explain the tradeoffs in language you can use to make a decision.
Work you can inspect
JupiterSoft Games is another part of my work. My own projects include Red Hope, a Mars colony sim, and Curbside, a pixel game about finding and selling curbside treasures. Both have free demos.
The Red Hope devlog looks at the work behind the game, including the small details that become surprisingly large jobs.
If you have a product or system you'd like to talk through, get in touch. A rough description is enough to start.
